November fun and activities

Here is a little hodge podge post prior to Thanksgiving.

We've been doing lots of fun little projects and outings and just thought we'd share our updates.

Maren is 14 mos old and getting closer and closer to walking.  She's taken a few steps here and there and she's stood for a bit quite a few times.  She is starting to say full words, "Baby, doggie, bird, dada, mama, cat, night night, hi, bye, all done". Maren is getting so much older.  I can tell she understands pretty much everything we tell her. She loves trying to do the things that Maisy does.

Maren signing "all done" meaning drawing time is over.

Maisy continues to make friends at school and apparently makes quite an impression on others. Parents have told me several times, "Oh, so and so comes home talking all about Maisy!"

Maisy loves her friend Juna, who we continue to have regular play dates with.

Maisy and Juna making smoothies.  I clean the fruit, they put it in the blender, they spoon in the yogurt, then they take turns blending it.  They love it!

We've been having some fun with our camera and chalk.

Unhappy princess Maren.  She didn't get the point of being put down in the middle of the driveway on cold cement.

Todd got the point.

Maren and Maisy have been playing more and more together and it's so cute to see them interact. Maren is doing very well with her stacking skills.

Ta-da Maren just stacked some blocks!

It seems that Maren is much more into play at her age than Maisy was.  She loves playing with her dolls and the stroller.

We try to take advantage of nice days and get out while we can.  We took a walk out at Albany Bulb last weekend with Marissa and took a little family photo.

Maren, Maisy and I went to Little Farm last Monday to visit the new baby cows (calves as Maisy learned).  We took a nice nature walk afterwards.

Maren checking out the bark of a tree and wondering what is in there!?

We did painting last night.  Maisy had little globs of paint and then rolled a ball through the globs by tilting the tray to make a design.

Maren wanted to get in on the painting action.  It was her first time with paints.  I'm so happy she didn't try to eat them.

Finished products.

Maisy loves herself some dress up.  I remembered that she had her flower girl dress from Auntie's wedding, so we got it out for dress up and she was in heaven playing bride.

Science class is over and the last class dealt with magnets again, so I thought it was the perfect time for this activity.  Maisy and I cut up pipe cleaners, put them in a jar, and then took a magnet to the outside of the jar to see what happened and to test how we could move the pipe cleaners around and how we could make them fall.

Getting ready to check out what happens.

Checking out what the magnet does.

I can't take credit for all the ideas above.  I've had lots of inspiration from my latest obesssion Pinterest.com.  So much cool stuff in there.

Hope everyone has a yummy, warm and peaceful Thanksgiving!  We are very excited to have Kim, Rigo and the nephews make the trip all the way up from LA for the weekend.  We have a tight schedule of lots of fun things to do in San Francisco.

Until next time!
